Toy train from NJP to Darjeeling

    Hi All

After finishing my stay in Banglore I am planing to make a short trip to Darjeeling. Can somebody tell me if toy train service from NJP to Darjeeling has been resumed or not yet. Is it possible to book toy train tickets online or do I have to buy from railway staion only.

Any additional information like travel time from NJP to Darjelling and rate of tickets from NJP to Darjelling would be appreciated.

    Thank again
    -Irene

    Hi

Right these days toy train service between NJP to Darjeeling is not available due to landslides but you can take the train from Kurseong to Darjeeling. It will take around 2 hours from Kurseong to Darjeeling but its highly recommended, the view of Himalayas which you can get from toy train is kind of impossible by car. The view and aroma of tea gardens and tea factories is really wonderful and something which you will remember entire life. Train is very small (3 cabins only) and runs at a very slow speed so keep your camera switched on all the way

Toy train fair from NJP to Darjeeling
First class Rs. 247 (Reserved Seat)
Second Class Rs. 42 (Not reserved)

Toy train fair from Kurseong to Darjeeling (leaves at 2PM)
First Call Rs. 228 (Reserved Seat)
Second Call Rs. 35 (Not reserved)

*Remember to go in First Class only as Second Class cabin gets over crowded sometimes.

    Hey Travellers,

I am staying at the moment in Bangalore, too and on Friday evening my train is going to start its long way to New Jalpaiguri. On Sunday evening I will arrive there and next station is Darjeeling. Is anybody at that time also there ??

I wanted to go by this Toytrain, too, but I don't know whether I have to book in advance or not. Maybe someone can help me.

    Thanks to all
