Byasi River Rafting and Camping Travelogue

Byasi is another river rafting and camping point which I consider 100 times better than Rishikesh and Shivpuri camps, it is 35kms from Rishikesh and around 16kms from Shivpuri (most popular river rafting point for Delhi folks). At an altitude of 2000 feet (600 meters) Byasi is surrounded with green forest and number of waterfalls at the bank of river Ganga.

    Distance from Delhi:
    260kms (around 7 hours)
    Route: New Delhi-Ghaziabad-Mohan Nagar-Meerut Bypass-Muzaffarnagar-Roorkee-Haridwar-Rishikesh-Byasi

    How to reach
By Train: Nearest Railway station is Haridwar and from there you can get taxi or bus to Byasi
By Road: Taxi service is available round the clock else you can catch a Volvo from ISBT

As it was birthday of my friend so we decided to celebrate it in Rishikesh and gift him a life time rafting experience, we started our trip from Delhi at around 10PM and headed towards NH 58 (Ghaziabad), after driving for a few hours we took our first stop at Midway Point (McDonalds and Haldirams) which is a 24 hours food join. Had some snacks and packed some Pizza McPuffs for night as there are not many dhabas or food joints in the midway.

After this we took our next stop at Haridwar at 4:30 and went down to Har ki Paudi for holy bath, it was really refreshing after a long drive and I count in a must do while going to Rishikesh.

To be very honest byasi is one of the best rafting and camping destination in India, else you can try in Kullu too. There are very few providers in Kullu who can get you pro level rafting
