Hi everybody

Can I cancel tatkal ticket of Indian Railways

I have this tatkal ticket from New Delhi to Bangalore for 18 August 2012 and want to cancel it but one of my Indian friend told me that tatkal tickets are not refundable and can’t be cancelled. If it is so then can I sell it to somebody else, if anybody wants to buy it from me then I am willing to sell it anytime.

You didn't mention that if this tatkal ticket is confirmed or is in Waiting list

If the ticket is confirmed and you cancel it a day before departure then then you will get 25% of total amount.
If the ticket is in waiting list and doesn't get confirmed then you will get your amount back after deduction of Rs. 20.
If you cancel it on the day of departure then you will not get any refund.


All the reserved tickets and tatkal tickets are non transferable so you can not sell it to anybody.

It means my tatkal ticket is wasted now and can't do anything about it. Can I cancel it from the Railway Reservation Center at New Delhi Railway Station.
