Tiruchirappalli also known as the ‘Rock Fort City’ is located at the southern part of the Indian peninsula in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is a city known for its antiquity. It has the privilege of being ruled by most of the kingdoms starting from the early Cholas to the British. The city is studded with various monuments of historical importance. The Rockfort is an hill fort in this town it comprises of two temples inside it. They are the Uchchi Pillaiyar Koil and the Shiva Temple. It is one of the oldest rock in the world at a height of 83 metres. It attracts tourists from several places.

The Ranganathaswamy Temple or Tiruvarangam is another prominent tourist temple which is situated in Srirangam. It is considered to be one of the most illustrious Vaishnava temples in South India which gives details of the about history. It is located on an island in the Cauvery river. It comprises of a tier architecture comprising of eleven tiers, which is at its helm during the Margazhi season. A million visitors are attracted towards it . Though the temple was subjected to constant attacks still it stands a master-piece apart. The city of temples yet another pearl to the Indian sub-continent.
