The Nilgiris is a Biosphere Reserve in South India. It is comprised of enormous species of flora and fauna. The peaks and the view points provide a spectacular view over the whole landscape. One such famous peak is the Doddabetta peak at an height of 2623 metres it offers a perfect view of sceneries and is also an awesome photo shooting spot. Another pearl to the Nilgiris is the Pykara river which is considered as the holy lake by the Thodas. It comprises of a dam and a water fall known as the Pykara Falls which attract the tourists towards it.

It is also the home of two National Parks namely the Mudumalai National Park and the Mukhurti National Park. The former is a home of some rare species of elephants, chital and vulnerable gaul. It is now declared as a tiger reserve. It is the home of some critically endangered species of birds such as long billed vulture and other threatened species. There are several other lakes such as the Emerals lake and Avalanche lake which adds on to the beauty of the Nilgiris. It is known for its oil (Nilgiris Thailam) which relieves body pain. Nilgiris a healthy atmosphere to relax in and admire nature’s wealth.
