Jodhpur is famous for its serenic beauty as it is located on the foothill of a sandstone hillock making it one of the best tourist place of Rajasthan.

It attracts visitors from all over the world. This place is famous not only for the forts, palaces and monuments but also for its outstanding traditional and cultural values.

Major attraction points of Jodhpur are:

Mehrangarh Fort:
The Mehrangarh fort in Jodhpur is situated on 150m high hill. It was constructed in 1459 by Rao Jodha,the chief of Rathore clan giving a number of attractions like palaces, galleries, museum ,temples etc within the fort.

Umaid Bhavan Palace:
Constructed in the 20th century, a wonderful palace that has been converted into a hotel and a museum.

Jaswant Thada:
Once you reach the Mehrangarh fort, This royal cenotaph made up of marble can be sited nearby.
Jaswant Thada lies to the left of the Mehrangarh fort complex. It is a royal cenotaph made up of white marble. It was built to honour Maharaja Jaswant Singh. Remenence of former rulers can also be seen.

i think that january & feburary are the best months to visit jodhpur

Jaisalmer is basically deep in the heart of Thar Desert.one of the last princely bastions

Forts- the best Fort here is Sonar Fort built in 1156 AD by Rawal Jaiswal crowns the height of 80m hills. the fort has 99 bastions around its circumfrence

Amar Sagar ,6 km away has ruins of a beautiful garden on the bank of a lake
